What our Students Say

I found Spark really great and helpful because there are small classes of 8-12 to help everyone feel more comfortable asking for help and there is a respectable environment in class, and each teacher is very helpful and friendly and available by email to answer any questions, and there are also parent teacher meetings to check your student’s progress in lessons and on homework assessments. The online classes are on Zoom which allows students to also ask questions directly to teachers if they do not wish to ask in front of the whole class, and the whole course content and resources is also available with practice for homework if students miss any lessons. I also found that every lesson when I would go in centre, Poonam was very hospitable to all the students and made everybody, especially new starters, feel very welcomed and so friendly to all, along with Mital who would often come and say hello and make students feel comfortable at Spark, and my teachers were Martin, Gemma, Katherine and Emmy, who were all very helpful and always available to ask questions and they also offered to help with other topics after the lesson too, and there is no pressure in lesson to answer questions, but everyone is encouraged to and given the space and time and there is not an intimidating as many students might feel at school in a larger class, so I think that helped me to learn without any barriers or fear of asking questions during lessons, and all the other students were also very friendly so it was easy to settle in

As a parent, I am more than satisfied with the level of tuition provided at Spark Academy, however this is a review from my son, who attends Spark who can provide a more practical review: What has Spark done for me? I was first introduced to Spark by my father. Spark has done so much for me and has changed me as a person in many different ways. For example, I have started to think outside of the box. Thanks to their support, I can do so much more at school and I am always one step ahead. On my first day at Spark, I thought that I wouldn't be able to make friends at felt like I would be left out until I met two people called G-van and Camren. Those two people made me feel that I can learn in a safe place to learn. How are the teachers? On my first day at Spark, I noticed that the teachers were very nice and thought full. I appreciate how they listen to us all and provide as much help as possible. With their continuous support, I have been improving my scores in mock tests from 27 to 31. I am now in year 6 and now they encourage us not to ask questions in tests as they are preparing us for SATs and the end of year 6. Spark is an amazing place for education and you will always be one step ahead of school. I believe that you should send your children to Spark.

i have done both online and in center lessons so i can honestly say that this tuition is one of the best. The lessons are easygoing but packed full of useful content. The tutors have great knowlege and are always open to answer questions (however out of the ordinary they may be). Great place, would recommend

How long do I need to commit to the programme?

For optimal results, we highly recommend joining our 12-month programme. Our students, driven by their progress and success, often choose to renew their membership until they complete their exams.

Can my child join the signature Ace The Grades™ Tutoring Programme at any time during the year?
Absolutely! Your child can join Spark Academy at any point in the year. The earlier they start, the sooner they can benefit from our effective learning techniques and make immediate improvements.
What kind of results can I expect for my child?

On average, our dedicated students achieve a remarkable progress of 2 grades on our 12-month programme. Their commitment, proactive approach, and active participation in lessons contribute to their outstanding outcomes.

Is your tuition aligned with the national curriculum and exam boards?
Rest assured, our programme is meticulously mapped to the national curriculum of England, Scotland, and Wales. We have also tailored our content to align with the topics of major exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC.
How large are your classes?

At Spark Academy, we believe in creating a tight-knit tribe. That’s why our maximum class sizes are kept to 12 students (in-person) or 15 students (online). These intimate group settings foster collaboration, build confidence, and encourage problem-solving together.

Is 1:1 tutoring better than group tutoring?
Since 2009, we have witnessed the remarkable benefits of group tutoring. Our interactive and collaborative approach enhances the learning experience, allowing students to learn from each other’s perspectives and develop valuable social skills.
Does my child receive homework?

Following each subject tuition class, your child will complete an online assessment. These assessments aim to normalize the experience of sitting tests and exams, providing valuable practice and feedback. The questions are modelled after past exam questions to ensure comprehensive preparation. Each assessment may take 15-30 minutes depending on your child’s confidence in the subject.

How can I track my child's progress?

After completing an assessment, your child will receive a detailed report highlighting their performance, including areas for improvement. As a parent, you can log in to our learning platform to track your child’s progress and stay informed about their development. Don’t be alarmed if an assessment shows areas for improvement; it’s an opportunity for targeted consolidation and growth.

Can I Speak to someone if I have concerns about my child’s progress?
Absolutely! At Spark Academy, we are here to support you and your child every step of the way. If you have any concerns about your child’s progress or any questions regarding their learning journey, simply reach out to our Spark HQ. We would be more than happy to arrange a time for you to have a conversation with your child’s tutor. We believe in open communication and collaborative problem-solving, ensuring that your child receives the best possible support and guidance on their academic path. Your peace of mind is important to us, and we are here to address any concerns you may have.
Do you provide additional resources and support materials?
When you join Spark Academy, you’ll have access to our comprehensive Resource Toolkit. This includes high-quality workbooks delivered to your home, along with online course materials like revision help videos, assessments, and notes. These resources support your child’s consolidation, exam preparation, and further learning.
Why do you have classes during the summer? Is it beneficial?
Research shows that 52% of students experience significant learning loss during summer break. At Spark Academy, we aim to maximize your investment in our programme by offering classes during this time. By keeping your child engaged and academically active over the summer, we ensure they start their new academic year on a strong foundation.
Can my child receive support for specific areas they struggle with?
Absolutely! Our tutors are dedicated to supporting your child every step of the way. Encourage your child to be open and transparent with their tutor, asking questions and seeking clarification. Effective communication allows us to provide targeted assistance and address any concerns promptly.
